Cathy felt fearful and hopeless in her own home. She has struggled with depression most of her life, and after a series of losses and illness she began to use shopping to ease her pain. Compounding the problem, a family member called her a “hoarder” and threatened to contact social services if she didn’t get her act together. She tried reading self-help books, but gave up after several attempts to get organized on her own had failed. While attending one of our seminars, Cathy was encouraged with new hope to give us a try. We worked together over several months, and as we progressed Cathy was able to do more of the work on her own. She’s found healthier ways to ease her pain and overcome depression and feels a new lease on life by restoring her home to an orderly place of peace and rest.
